Installation & Care
Hiring a professional plumber with experience installing glass sinks is recommended and will protect your investment. Provide these instructions to the plumber before installation
Our sinks can be installed in a variety of countertop materials. They are actually very simple to install. We recommend crystal clear sillicone or polyurethane selers. The sink may slip as the silicone sets, so pay careful attention to the level and adjust if necessary. A level may be placed on the rim and checked as the silicone sets. After the sinks is set in the the countertop, install the drain unit.
Drain assemblies MUST BE HAND TIGHTENED. WARNING Do not over tighten! Overtightening can cause breakage. Make sure there is a rubber foam washer, plumber's putty or clear silicone in between the drain, the sink, and the counter. The drain should NOT hold the sink in place.
Drain assemblies that do not hold water such as strainer-type drains are preferrable. Avoid 'pop-up' style drains which retain water in the basin. Please note that our sinks do not have overflow valves.
Care Instructions
Clean your sink with non-abrasive cleaners and a soft cloth. Natural vinegar can be used to remove hard water deposits if needed. Do not use abrasive sponges, steel wool, or 'soft' scrubbing abrasive cleaners. Bonn Ami cleaning powder is a safe non-scratching cleaner which removes water spots. We recommend that your water heater be be set to an energy efficient temperature range of 120º to 130ºF. Thermal shock can occur durring a drastic water temperature change of over 70ºF, causing the glass to break. To prevent breakage, do not pour water over 130ºF into your glass sink. Avoid running extremely hot water after very cold water, or visa versa.
